By Mummy - Can anyone enlighten me?

Have been feeling very vexed over this issue... Whenever I bring it up intentionally or un-intentionally.. I was always end up feeling upset and at a loss of what can be done to improve it.
Worst is, can even cause cold war between me & Des... SIGH!

As all know, Lucas is taken care by my mum ever since he was born. After my maternity leave and back to working life, we would have to ferry him up and down from my mum's place.
The routine would be morning to send Lucas to mum's place followed by sending me to work.
Des will pick me up from work in the evening to mum's place for dinner and bring Lucas back home

Every morning is a torture.. I have to wake up early to pump milk, feed Lucas & change his diaper, prepare myself for work before waking Des up to get ready. (He usually wakes up at 7.30am)
Will leave the house by 7.45am even later depending on the speed of action of my dear chauffeur.
Yes.. yes.. he only needs 15mins to get ready.. so that he can have more sleep :)

Of course, if Lucas is good and did not make too much noise causing Des to wake up earlier than usual, then things will proceed smoothly till we are in the car. Otherwise, if Lucas fuss like 7am in the morning and cause Des to sleep lesser, he will start to grumble that this is too tiring and we need to do something to stop it..
Can I ask.. where on earth is there a baby who is consistently non-fussing every single day???

When we hit the road and meet the jam.. here comes the nightmare.. Cursing and complaints will start to roll out non-stop from dear chauffeur's mouth.. From Bukit Batok (where the jam start) all the way to Jurong (my mum's place). After that, from Jurong to Alexandra (my work place) he will start to suggest all sort of un-constructive solutions to solve the problem such as hiring a maid at home to take care of Lucas or Des to resign and stay at home to be a houseHubby!!

Des just hate jams.. so do I. But this is not something within our control, everyone has to face morning rush, don't we??

The issue came up over and over again for the past 1 year and is driving me nuts. Of course, the both of us did sat down to thrash out the problem and we decided to put Lucas to childcare near our place when he reaches 2 years.
But I can foresee that by then I will definitely feel heart pain to let such a small boy attend childcare FULL DAY.

My mum also mention issue such as emergency call to bring Lucas back from childcare immediately if he is found to be sick. The need to specially prepare his dinner as he's still young, we can't let him have packed dinner everyday.

So I thought maybe I should place him at a childcare near my mum and he can attend it for half day only
But this will means that the morning jam issue remains unresolved.
Or I can bring Lucas down to the childcare myself, but can I really do that when the morning buses are all so fully packed like sardines?!?

This issue is really a big headache for me!!

PS: If anyone out there who has been in the same situation as me and manage to overcome it with a good solutions, do let me know..

By Mummy --- My very first Bento

After looking at so many bento blogs.. I decided that I should put my hand to it today....

Thanks to
Tona-mama for the 3 little pigs inspiration
But my pigs seem to be much bigger... hmmm

I use ham & white bread for the pig head cut out from a bear rice mould / cutter. Also ham for ears and nose. The 2 holes on the nose are cut using a normal straw
Added 1 mini cupcake for Lucas and also included strawberries, grapes and flower & star cut out dragon fruit as deco to make the bento look less empty

Lucas only took half of the cupcake.. I reckon he won't like the dragon fruit cos it's tasteless!! Did not let him try strawberry as he might not be use to biting seeds on the fruits itself.
He only suck a bit on the grapes.. guess still not accustom to the taste yet.
So the rest have to be finish by Mummy..

There are lots and lots of rooms for improvement.. such as cutting of the face expression.. Still need more practice.. the eyes and mouth on the pigs aren't too nice.. :(
And my bento don't seem "full".... need to add more deco stuff or increase the quantity of food
..

Something interesting on the table... let's check it out

I am coming... keke

Hmm.. looks interesting...

Let me take a closer look.. Oh.. is Little Pigs!!!

Can I play with them?!?!

Please Mummy.. they are for me right?? :)
