What a Scare!!

Today I scare the death out of Mummy...

I was having fever on and off since Christmas Day. Both Mummy and Po Po did brought me to doctor and with the medication, it did bring down the fever. All I have is fever, no runny nose, no cough, no sore throat. So everyone gather that this could be due to teething.

So yesterday Mummy brought me to the Pediatrician, she also couldn't diagnose what other problems I have. She even rule out teething cos she can't see any teeth coming out.

She asked Mummy to monitor me till Monday, if the fever is still coming back, she would need to perform urine or blood test.

So after lunch this afternoon, I start to look weird.. I was so tired and quiet.. Then Mummy saw that my skins change abit of colour on my arms and legs.. she wrapped me tighter in case I am cold. Then while Daddy was carrying me in the lift, I started to shiver.. My lips start to turn purple.. Face starts to turn white and I start to curl up as I was very very cold.

This is the first encounter of such thing for Mummy, she was worried sick with tears in her eyes. She quicky rush home to take my birth cert and health booklet and ask Daddy to rush us to the nearest available GP. When the doctor took my temprature, my fever has reach 40 degree.. OMG!!!!!

The doctor inserted a tablet into my butt and ask mummy and daddy to quickly bring me to KK. He also ruled out teething as teething would never bring such a high fever.

Once we reach KK, the nurses quickly registered me and I was attended with priority as my fever is very high. They gave me some medicine and paste a plastic bag over my "little didi" in order to collect urine sample for testing.

The test result shows that it's really urine infections and I have to be warded to bring the fever down as it may damage the kidney if it's not controlled and they will have to give me antibiotics via IV as that's the most efficient way rather than oral.

I cried so loudly when they were inserting the tubes into my veins for the IV antibiotics.. Lucky I can still drink a decent amount of milk and take porridge, otherwise I might have to be on drip for 24 hrs.

After 4 nights stay at the hospital, they finally managed to bring my fever down and I was told that I can be discharged the next day. The doctor mentioned that it could be structural of the unrinary system or hygiene problem that cause this infection. We will have to see her again in 1 month's time for an ultrasound to check on the structure to make sure everything is well and fine. Mummy is very worried about this. If it's due to structural, then things will be quite complicated..... :(

This time, it really cost daddy and mummy a bomb given that I stayed such a long time and we chosen 1 bedded as they have to accompany throughout the time.
